General Information for Submitting Abstracts |
|
Abstracts will be accepted only for poster presentations.
The Scientific Committee of the 17th APCC will vet for acceptance all submitted abstracts.
The authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by e-mail starting February 2009. The presenting author must register for the Congress during the period of pre-registration.
All abstracts must be submitted through the ONLINE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION SYSTEM. Submitting more than one abstract is acceptable. For those who have difficulty accessing the online submission system on this website, please contact the Congress Secretariat via e-mail at: 17apcc@convention.co.jp

Format for Writing Abstract(s) |
|
- The abstract should be written in English.
- Use standard abbreviations and place all special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the first
use of the full word. Use generic names of drugs. Write numbers as numerals rather than words.
- The title of the paper should be in CAPITALS. Single spacing is also required.
- The text of the abstract should cover the purpose of introduction/background, methods, results and
conclusions (1600 characters including spaces, approx. 220 words).

Travel Grants |
|
The Congress will award Travel Grants to those who would like to participate in this competition. The Scientific Committee will select recipients for Travel Grants from the submitted abstracts based on established criteria.
There are no restrictions for age or nationality for eligibility.
Each recipient will receive a grant of JPY 50,000-.
Each applicant MUST:
- Select the "Apply for Travel Grant" when submitting the abstract online.
- Complete the online meeting registration.

The 17th APCC Special Achievement Award & Session |
|
| Dear Colleagues,
The 17th APCC Special Achievement Award recognizes the most outstanding abstracts submitted to the 17th APCC that address key issues facing the Asia Pacific region. A Special Session has been scheduled for the presentation of the selected abstracts.
We are happy to announce that (number) of awards will be granted, and the winning presenters will receive JPY100,000 to support their travel and hotel costs. Registration (early/ pre-registration fee) will be reimbursed to the presenters of the selected abstracts after the 17th APCC Special Achievement Award Session.
We encourage you to submit your abstracts early and wish you good luck!

| ◆ Guidlines for the 17th APCC Special Achievement Award |
- All presenting authors who submit abstracts and complete registration for the Congress during the period of pre-registration will be eligible for the award. There are no restrictions for age or nationality.
- Award recipients must be able to provide oral presentation in the 17th APCC Special Achievement Award Session of May 23rd, 2009. Therefore, award recipients will be required to prepare presentation data by the PowerPoint file in advance.
- After the presentation, the winners will be reimbursed JPY 100,000 and pre-registration fee at the congress venue.

1. Preparation |

A. |
The total available space for a display panel is 90 cm (width) X 180 cm (height) (including the space for the presentation number). |
B. |
Speakers are requested to prepare a paper tag to indicate the title of presentation, name of the author(s) and affiliation(s) in a space of 70 cm (width) X 20 cm (height). A poster should not exceed the display size of 90 cm (width) X 160 cm (height).

C. |
Although the layout of the poster is left to the speakers' discretion, speakers are requested to arrange the poster in the order of (1)Purpose (2)Methods (3)Study/Consideration (4)Results. Speakers are also requested to prepare all text in English, and all characters/charts should be large enough to be legible from a distance of 3 meters. |

Every speakers are requested to follow the above schedule in mounting and removing their posters on the assigned panels. Posters that have not been removed by the end of the Removal Time will be discarded. |

3. Procedure |
|
All speakers are requested to stop by the Poster Reception Desk in front of the poster
session room to receive thumbtacks and a speaker ribbon that should be wore to identify
the presenter during the time for presentation and discussion. Also, all speakers are
requested to mount his/her poster on the panel assigned by the congress secretariat
by 10 a.m. on the day of presentation. Speakers of the presentation are expected to stand-by
in front of your poster panel at latest 5 min prior to your session. Since presentation
times for each speaker is 10 minutes in total (7 min presentation + 3 min discussion),
please keep the time to ensure smooth proceedings, according to chairperson's
moderation. |

4. Travel Grant |
|
The Organizing Committee of the 17th APCC will award Travel Grants to those who
submit abstract and win its competition. They will be commended at the Gala Dinner on
May 21st, 2008. |
