Credit Cards
All major hotels and most restaurants and shops accept credit cards.
We advise you to carry an ID, passport or other form of photo identification.
Foreign Currency Exchange
Most foreign currencies and traveler's checks can be exchanged at the airport and banks. A passport is required for currency exchange services. Traveler's checks can be purchased at a more favorable rate than cash. Please note that the Organizing Secretariat will accept only Japanese Yen.
Automated teller machines (ATMs) are available at most major banks and local currency can be withdrawn if your bank card is part of the international networks, such as Cirrus and Plus.
Climate
Weather in Kyoto during May is usually warm and temperatures should very comfortable, between 15 °C – 23 °C.
Electricity
The voltage used throughout Japan is 100 volts, AC. Plugs with 2 flat pin are used.
Plug adapters should be available for purchase at many stores in your country.
Insurance
The organizers do not accept responsibility for individual medical, travel or personal insurance. Participants are advised to take out their own personal insurance policy.
Passport and Visa Information
All delegates from abroad require a valid passport. For visa requirements, please check your local Japanese consulates or Embassy beforehand. Should you require an invitation letter to obtain a visa to attend the Congress, please contact the Congress Registration Desk
